Country overall: Medium Risk
Mindanao & Sulu Archipelago: High Risk

In Manila, bomb attacks take place at government and public locations and there is an ongoing threat. There is a high level of street crime and 'express' kidnapping occurs from time to time. Terrorists have also targeted public transport in other areas, notably the inter-island ferry services. Rebel and terrorist groups that are in conflict with the central government operate within the Philippines, mostly notably in Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago. The tropical storm season runs from June to November.
