Country overall: Medium Risk

Terrorism is a threat to foreigners in Jordan, particularly Westerners and those deemed to support US policy in the Middle East. In 2005, terrorists attacked three well known international hotels in Amman causing multiple fatalities. In the same year they also unsuccessfully targeted a US naval ship in Aqaba. Crime levels are relatively low. Multiple governments urge visitors to Jordan to exercise caution.
